I have been playing with different icons, including setting my own up in fontawesome.
Up until yesterday, these were displaying ok. However, even with those that have not been changed for a few days, they are now just showing as the text “object Object”.
Interestingly, some of the icons in my menu bar, for such as File Editor, Grafana and HACs, are often showing the same issue. I have restarted and refreshed many times. Sometimes they are ok and other times they show as “object Object”.
mdi icons seem to be unaffected but I have also had the same result for a phu Custom Brand icon.
IME, fonts other than mdi are very hit or miss, usually missing. I have fontawesome and a couple other ones, on my first view of a dashboard in a new tab/window, the non-mdi icons show up as configured. When I refresh the page, only some of the non-mdi icons show up, refresh again and now none of the non-mdi icons show up, refresh 3.1416 more times and now all but 1 non-mdi icon show up.
It is strange though that the H A menu bar has been affected. I have not touched these icons. They are the standard icons allocated by integrations in HA and now, HACS, Grafana and File Editor all have the same issue. They most likely are not mdi and are bundled with the integrations.

Bad - I don’t know what fixed it. There is a possibility that using Developer Tools in Chrome for testing caused some kind of issue with the use of caching. I tend to have the setting to “not cache while open” ticked so that screen refresh picks up any new changes. I have found that this has been better in the past than the Lovelace Refresh button. I turned this off at some point and it was around that time that the issue fixed itself. However, have tested since with this setting and no problems have occurred so not sure.
