Looking for ideas of what hardware would best fit my use case.
In our fridge there is a removable water tank, used by the ice maker or chilled water dispenser. It is not plumbed in so need to be taken out and refilled from the tap.
Any ideas for a way to either get the amount of water in the tank, or even an ‘almost empty’/ OK toggle.
The tank is clear plastic with a lid with a small opening flap on top to fill via which could be suitable for something like a wire to pass through while in situ.
I think there are a few options, though with drinking water you may not want to have electronics inserted inside. something like this (though I’m not sure it would be feasible with removing connectors every time you want to refill)
the HC-SR04 would probably work well, and depending on how the water tank is placed in the fridge, something like this could also be an option?
