If Hue is the Gold Standard for motion sensors, what is the Gold Standard for Door Window/Contact sensors?

I’ve decided that you get what you pay for and I’m going to replace all my motion sensors with Hue, what is the door/contact sensor equivalent in your humble opinion?

Aqara Door Window sensors.

Agree about the motion sensors, A+ battery life and < 10 second recycle time, haven’t seen anything come close.

I like[d] the Samsung Smartthings door sensors but they are gone now. Can probably still get some off eBay.

Unfortunately it doesn’t have tilt feature which might be considered needed if you have tilted windows
tbh I don’t know any zigbee d/w with tilt.
That’s why I’m using Shelly DW.

I tried the Shelly DW. I did not like the 10 second response time and poor battery life.

agree, Shelly DW cannot be called the best solution since several disadvantages (however currently, with recent fw battery life should be extended to several years - might vary depending on many factors)
Unfortunately tilt is crucial for me. I was looking for zigbee alternatives but I failed.

Another thing to mention, for whatever reason all zigbee dw sensors have bulky formfactor (I compare to shelly DW which is powered by double batteries remaining very small if not smallest on the market)

The Aqara sensor is tiny compared to the Shelly DW.

You are right (hard to argue against the photo - thank you for this comparison)

I have 26 of the aqara/xiaomi DW sensors, the battery life on them are very good > 1+ years so far.
Advice, swap out the factory provided ones for decent genuine ones.
I prefer the xiaomi model as its rounded (internals essentially the same)
Near instantaneous status reporting
they can also be used for some little side projects (see zigbee rain gauge in forum). works flawlessly and fairly accurate.

Looking at the Aqara/Xiaomi DW sensors.

Does anyone know:

  1. If there are (many) different models from each of them?
  2. If yes, any difference on reliability/battery life?
