If You Are Considering A Weather Station, Go Weatherflow Tempest

I got one of these back in 2021, then had a minor issue with the UV coating a few months later and instantly was sent a new one, no questions asked. Lately I’ve noticed the battery isn’t charging to full any longer and chatted with their support and they have a policy that if you have a failure in 2 years, you get a new one free, if after that up to 10 years you get a new one for 50% off. That’s a company that seriously stands behind their product.

And they are made in the USA (if that matters to you, it does to me).

Good to know, appreciate your experience (on top of the multiple recommendations I’ve encountered). I received one yesterday, pleased with the installation, operation, and how readily HK gets its data.

My perspective on this device is quite different: Weather station for use in Home Assistant - #6 by tom_l

My Weatherflow Tempest just stopped holding a charge. How many of the kickstarter backers have had to buy a new unit already? (self.WeatherFlowSmart)

This seems like planned obsolescence to me. Don’t include a replaceable battery and then just ask people to pony up for a new one every few years.

Do any of you still function without dropouts or is this just a fairy tale they tell us?

Mine never held a charge from new and neither did a replacement (based in UK)
