Ikea Dirigera, Homekit, and Home Assistant Integration

Hi everyone,

Has anyone been able to integrate Dirigera both with Homekit and Home Assistant?

  • Powering Dirigera, Home Assistant immediately found it as Homekit Controller. After adding this integration to Home Assistant, integrating Dirigera with Homekit will fail. “Accessory Already Added. To add this accessory to your home, you’ll need to reset it first.”

  • After removing Dirigera from Home Assistant, Integrating with Homekit is successful. But now I can’t add it to Home Assistant.

I have automation in Homekit while I also have Home Assistant on my hallway as a dashboard to control the lights. Is it possible to have it like Ikea Tradfri where it works with both?

Have you tried using HomeKit Bridge - Home Assistant to expose your HA devices into HomeKit?

Yes. That also works but I was hoping to allow Dirigera direct integration to Homekit and avoid any possible lag.

In my current setup, I have Tradfri direct integration to Homekit. Then I have HassOS expose my 2x Wiz lights and 3x Wyze cams to Homekit. This is for automatic/scheduled scene control. Ex. Dusk, Sunset, Sunrise.

Tradfri also has direct integration with HassOS and is used as a dashboard in my wall tablet to allow touch screen controls of the Ikea and Wiz lights.

The Dirigera integration isn’t working yet… New DIRIGERA hub is not supported in Tradfri integration · Issue #80851 · home-assistant/core · GitHub

Is there is any chance that official HA dirigera addon will be released? HK integration it looks, isn’t working

It still does not work, it’s been more than a year since the Dirigera hub was launched.
We should open a feature request and vote for it.

I finally figured out how to make it work with the HomeKit Controller/Device integration. It seems like a firmware update hid the auto-discovery of the Dirigera Hub behind a setting in the app. To trigger auto-discovery in Home Assistant you need to go to the hubs partner service settings in the app and try to connect it from there with HomeKit. But then don’t scan the code in the back of the hub with your phone! Instead now go to Home Assistant integrations page and enter the code there once asked for it while adding the discovered HomeKit controller. Keep the QR scan dialog open on your phone until setup in Home Assistant is complete.
