Or maybe I’m wrong and there is something more to do after pairing?
Like zigbee2mqtt says, the button hast latest firmware (2.3.015).
As ZHA-integrated, I tried to “bind” something in HA - does not work.
I tried BluePrints - does not work.
ZigBee devices usually does not have “switches”. They send events.
So go to developer tools → events and listen to zha_event.
When you press the button you should see the event.
Or if you use device as trigger then it should be visible in the automations GUI.
But sadly, nothing happens. There is no output on listening to zha_event.
After the last pairing (ZHA) I got new trigger for the button. But using those triggers even does not work… Also I’m confused about these triggers: it’s a shortcut-button, but there are “dimming”-trigger:
Have you updated the firmware of your ZigBee controller?
I could not use my IKEA stuff with the firmware my conbee II came with but after an update it worked fine.
I use Tasmota 10.0.0 on my patched Sonoff controller/coordinator. Do not want to update this… because “never touch a running system”.
For z2m I use a ZigStarEthernet with newest firmware, which also has those problems.
Maybe it’s the shortcut button, because now it’s status is “last seen 30 min ago”…
I’m using a Conbee II Stick and Zigbee2MQTT and have successfully paired the Shortcut button.
When paired I used the Zigbee2MQTT “Logs”. Set to all and Log level to Info and then pressed the button once, twice and also the long push. All states was shown as on, off and brightness_move_up.
Finally in my automations I just search for the sensor.name_action and fires the action depending on which state it retrieves.
HI Guys… little bit of testing. I bought 2 same devices. I have added battery( my own) to first one. It didnt work. I also bought some on of switch and 4 button switch in the same time. . with blue prints those worket fine… so i decided to open the last shorty switch. connected. and started to work fine…so I was trying to cinect first one shorty… trying. trying. nothing. I switched batteries cause I reas that ikea bateries are wrong. but… no. the first shorty did not connected. And I am giving up… weather it jst a firmware. like I took first or last from bench in ikea and its working… the one behind is not working because different fw??? that is the question now… but. on of switch working nicely for 1/0 long1/ long0,. 4 button is workgin also fine suprisingly with blue print … but this shitty shorty is makeing me angry. 1 is working 1 is absolutely not… I hope this will help…
I am in the same position, IKEA sent me a replacement and it is the same, binds but no events. Is it the device not sending the events or ZHA not picking it up?
