IKEA - TRADFRI Lights work with HA!

I had “Tuya” LEPRO bulbs off of Amazon set up and it was a nightmare getting an independent “ID” for each one. It was a lot of hoops to go through with creating a developer account on Tuya and integrating them into HA. I finally had eight of them working but only as switches rather than lights. As switches I couldn’t configure colours or dimming through HA but Alexa on my echos seemed to figure that out, if I used voice commands.

I bought one IKEA TRADFRI E26 to try out. They’re Zigbee bulbs and I have a Conbee II Coordinator USB stick integrated into my HA with ZHA. I added the bulb by turning it off and on “SIX” times (that’s important), the bulb started to fade in and out and it magically paired no problem. I now have several of these bulbs replacing my local Tuya bulbs and they work really well. Nice colours, they change temperatures from 2,000 to 4,000 K, I can set the brightness and they work throughout the distances in the house. I can now create automations with my bulbs for color and brightness, which I couldn’t with the Tuya bulbs. I would really recommend the IKEA TRADFRI E26 bulbs with HA. Around $15 CDN.
