Ikea TREDANSEN with premanent power supply

Hi, I haven’t found many sources on this topic, so I decided to share my results.

I have three Zigbee Ikea blinds at home. I don’t want anything connected with Home Assistant to have batteries, so in the case of these blinds I had to figure out how to get rid of the battery.

The instructions say that these are 7V batteries, the maximum voltage is 8.4V. All I had to do was remove the batttery connector, connect an 8.4V power supply to it and the blind works fine, always reporting 100% battery.

I have a 5V LED power supply in the wall, to which a step-up to 8.4V is connected. So far, everything has worked flawlessly. If the blind loses its opening percentage from time to time, all I had to do was open it all the way to reset the position.

I hope that if someone is looking to see if it is possible, they will find information on the forum that it is possible

Cheers

And this is my in-wall power box

Do you have a fuse on the DC side somewhere in case the cat bites thru the wire, or whatever?

The entire installation is behind the differential circuit breaker, and then the B6 overcurrent. On the DC side all cables are in the walls and box is closed with a plastic cover, but fuse is not a bad idea, I’ll add a few, thanks
