Has anyone managed to take a backup of their original factory firmware from this device?
I just bought one from Ali Link, listing didn’t mention which gen is it but unfortunately it is equipped with a new board now - CB3S.
Looks like i need to whip out the soldering iron
i have one of these to, did you ever get it working? if so what did you do?
I didn’t have time to solder it on, but my plan was to try the solution from post of cklit above:
Solution was to steal a ESP12-F from a Wemos D1 mini from the drawer, and mount that instead
In my case I bought an ESP12-F to flash and solder.
