Hey All,
Thought I would share this little project, I’m new to HA but not so much automation and after losing the rag with multiple apps to do different things, I find myself at HA’s doorstep.
After some success with my soldering skills, I have embraced the Sonoff-Tasmota and I’m starting to use theme here, there and everywhere!
My latest is, how do I automate my immersion heater safely?…
So I have a component box with a 25amp contactor along with a circuit breaker for extra measure. Using my Sonoff-Tasmota switch to power the contactor I’m able to activate the immersion heater without having to find the pesky switch in the airing-cupboard! There is also an inline time-counter which cuts the power until its reset after 60 minutes should my automation fail to switch it off. I haven’t done anything on HA other than a Boolean switch to activate some automation to put the immersion heater on for 30 minutes.
Using the contactor method opens the doors for a whole heap of new automation were standard 10 amp Sonoff’s don’t cut the mustard!
Anyways thought I would share. Next up is my garden irrigation system which is nearly finished, ill share that over the next few days.
