Impact of changing entity names in Vera for ZWave devices

Couldn’t see a thread covering this specifically; Was looking to understand what the behaviour in HA would be if i changed the friendly device name in Vera, as it seems used to make up the HA entity id?

would it update the same HA entity in HA with the new name, or
would the HA entity name stay the same, or
would it create a new HA entity and the old one will probably get purged at some point

I assume if it its the first or last one then i’ll need to update my configuration files with the new HA entity ID?

from what I remember is that the next time you restart HA it will change the device name + vera device id

example:

switch.appliance_switch_215

to

switch.xmas_tree_215

i dont recall what happened in the interim from when i changed it in Vera to when i restarted HA though.
