I have recently switch to Aruba Instant and trying out the current component that logs into the controller with ssh isn’t working correctly. Since Aruba Instant OS 8.5, it supports a REST API. I would like to try and update the Aruba component to support this API but I don’t know where to get started. My python skills are very slim however I know how to work with JSON in other languages such as Perl and Ansible.

I’ve recently upgraded to Aruba instant APs for my home network. In the past I was using a Mikrotik with Cisco APs.
My Mikrotik integration worked great but with the IAP setup doing the L3 and up assignment for the clients need to move my presence detection to Aruba unless I find a way to get DHCP relay for my clients.
I’ve Python experience, will take a look at the rest API and see if I can get something going on this. Not sure if you made any progress on this.
