Improving Ikea Tradfri network range?

Hey Everyone!

I have set up an Ikea Tradfri motion sensor and switch in my shed to turn on the lights whenever I enter the shed. It is working great so far!

…except the motion sensor keeps falling off the network.

I have added a repeater as close as possible, but that hasn’t helped. Do Tradfri motion sensors normally drop off from network visibility? Is there another way to test and improve connectivity?

Thanks!

It might be worthwhile re-pairing the sensor while near the repeater. I’ve found some devices aren’t very good at finding a better router, so if you initially paired them with the hub, they keep looking for it.

Sounds reasonable and couldn’t hurt. I’ll give that a try and see what happens over the next few days. Thanks!!

and maybe place the (or an additional ?) range extender in the shed?
Saying so because maybe the sensor receives well, but has not enough power to transmit…

I reassociated the motion sensor and repeater to the hub, let it run for two days, and I’ve seen not a single drop from the network where before it would drop several times per hour. I’m going to call it a success!

Thank you for your help!!
