As the title say, I’m in search of an universal remote control that could be used with HA. I have a few Logitech Hamony remote control, but no Harmony Hub, and all I can find in the documentation is about the Harmony Hub on home assistant.
I would like something to control my home theater room. Most equipments are in a closet, where a standard remote won’t be able to reach. I’m coming form a Control4 system, that I’m about to finish to push out of door and replace entirely with Home Assistant, and that’s probably the last step I need to figure out.
Hi guys, yea I admit my initial post was probably too generic to be helpful.
I mainly use an Apple TV gen 4 that can ne control with HA (the integration with Control4 was via IR) and a Samsung blue ray player that is IR only, as even if it can be connected via Ethernet I cannot find integration for it. It must be only for the smart features of its menu. I also have an Onkio receiver with Ethernet that can be controlled via HA that way (I still need to explore that path). I also would like to control the lighting in the room that are on Lutron Caseta and one light is with a SONOFF Zigbee control, all working in HA. I also want to control the screen and projector where I’m currently working to add to HA with a ESP32 and a relay. I’m close to completion on this, and very confident it will work soon!
Eventually, I would like to add the control the HVAC and my HI-FI home system that will likely be via IR and are located in the main room where I sit. So that should be the easiest part to deal with.
I searched on the forums, yes, but the terms universal, remote and control drove me in many wrong direction. Maybe I should have looked further or with different search terms.
And I forgot but I also have a Panasonic projector that I was already able to integrate with HA moving the serial cable from the Control4 and it can be easily controlled with some command line in HA.
