Inbuilt Hive component not finding heating

I hope you can help a nube to Home Assistant. I’m running Hass.io on a PI zero W and I have it working with my Samsung TV, and a Sonoff SV switch as well as emulated Hue talking to Alexa.
I’m trying to get my Hive running and it finds some of it but not all. I have Hive wireless thermostat and a wireless plug.
I have the following in my configuration.yaml

hive:
  username: "myemailaddress"
  password: "mypassword"

and with this it detects the wireless plug and adds it to the home screen as a switch

But I see nothing for the thermostat control.
My Hive thermostat is the first version that British gas fitted so I wonder if it’s too old for the standard component to pick up?

I’ve now found a similar(ish) post

I followed the suggestion of using the hive.py file in custom_components and I can now see the thermostat battery level and status but it still doesn’t pick up any sensors for the temperatures. Any ideas?

I asked on the Hive forum and it looks like I’m not only pre v2 Hive, I’m pre v1!
I’m looking to replace the kit.
