Include pilight

It would be very useful to include the code and an installed version of pilight.
It should have the correct settings already (listening port 5000, no web server), so that just an RF transceiver has to be attached to the RPi IO pins to listen and steer devices via 433 MHz.

I don’t think this would be that useful for the the average user trying out HA. It’s a great project but it’s more on the advanced side and requires some hardware knowledge. As is right now OpenZWave is on the wishlist and might come in the future.

Isn’t the RPi concept about learning hardware and thus not meant for the “average” user, who could be to afraid to connect 2 cables to a PCB?

The Raspberry Pi most certainly is but the HASSbian image is mostly intended for easy and quick way for someone to get started with Home Assistant.
Adding pilight would help very few and has no reason to be pre-installed since it’s fairly easy to install with the instructions from the pilight project.
Adding instructions for howto get it installed on the image could defiantly be a an option on the other hand.

Ok, then I got it wrong. I thought the HASSbain image was meant to save setup time. I agree that a user that is able to attach 2 cables to the correct GPIO pins by reading a manual should also be able to install pilight from source by reading a manual.

COuld you please provide us with manual for hassbian? it is really not easy to run pilight on hassbian.

I see no reason to why the install instructions provided by pilight shouldn’t work.
We don’t remove anything from the raspbian base(lite) image.
