Inexpensive hardware to play back TTS, not Goog or Amzn?

Running HA 2022.11.1 OS 9.3 on a RasPi 4B.

My end goal is to have remote speakers and play TTS back based on various automation. A great plus would be if at the same location the person’s response could be captured with a microphone. I would like to use Almond, Mycroft, Rhasspy, or similar.

I can do Ethernet, WiFi, Zigbee, Z-Wave, Bluetooth, or BLE for connectivity. I can even use the audio jack from the device that is running HA.
I do not want to use Google, Amazon, Apple or other devices which require intermediary hubs or external connectivity.

What are my hardware options for the speaker and if possible, microphone?
