Could somebody explain this “magic” to me ?
I’ve just bought a generic knob zigbee dimmer .
I started pairing with my ZHA on homeassistant. It paired and recognized it.
I apllied the area to my aquarium, where i also have a zigbee dimmer controling the light.
The magic is that the Homeassistant someway linked them, and it started controling that light without any further configuration !
There’s no automation configured, nothing.
Is there any place I can see this ? If I need to change something,or if I create an automation, will it cancel this magic configuration ?
Can’t help you much, but I can offer my best guess.
Your dimmer & light have been bound together via zigbee (ZHA) binding. Read up on it - there’s a few topics about it in this forum, usually happens with Ikea or Innr lights.
Thanks, I didn’t even know that exists!
So, I was looking for this configuration, went to my Zigbee network on ZHA, selected the button and edited config. As I could see, there’s no association between then. In fact, since I did not edited those configuration before, there’s only one LightGroup automatically created, and the new button is out of it.
Image is in portuguese. Luz= Light, Botão = Button, Adicionar = Add, Remover = Remove
The interesting is that I configured another knob and it also have been linked to the same light. And I need to remove this association because this new knob will control a tuya light.
Updating the case, if someone has the same problem,
It’s cool this configuration of groups of Zigbee devices, but it seems something is broken on ZHA in HA.
The light was beng linked (although I cannot see this link) because it’s on the same default “Lighting Group” HA created automatically.
So, I created a new group and tried to add both my knob and my dimmer light. The Light I can add perfectly, but the knob refuses to enter. HA Zigbee config says it’s not part of any group. And it can’t add to the new one.
I’m looking for some information about this, found similar problems, but no solution yet.
