Initializing Probe

Hello everyone,

I recently received a few new zwave devices to add to my small system. I purchased and installed a few light control switches and some door sensors. The switches went very well with no issues. The devices appear on the Home Assistant screen and I can control them just fine. The door sensors aren’t going as well.

I have three door sensors and they were discovered. They appear on the screen as “Initializing (probe)”. When I trigger the door sensors, the light on the device flashes but I don’t see anything happening on the screen. I did restart Hassio and I did also do the heal network thing but still nothing.

What does the “Iniyizing (probe)” mean and what would you suggest that I do next?

Thank you,

Either leave it for 24hrs or so or wake it up, see how to do this in your docs, usually you press a button inside/on the device or there is a tiny pinhole to press the button. Some need a 3s-10s press some need several quick presses.

Same problem here. After pressing for 6 seconds the button I were able to fix it and now the sensor shows as “complete” in the ZWave config and the value is “sleeping”, which seems correct to me as this is battery powered.

The problem is that the “binary_sensor.oomi_unknown_type0002_id0059_sensor_3” entity appears always as ON, with “value_id: 72057594143571968”, even if I open/close the sensor.

I’m using the Oomi recessed sensor, by the way.
