I have the new IBS-TH3 - INKBIRD WiFi Thermometer Hygrometer Smart Temperature Humidity Sensor IBS-TH3. What can I do to help get this supported by the integration?
Bump !
And
Bump !
Im also looking how to get my ibs-th3 into home assistant. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Have you solved? Just making a decision whether to buy Inkbird IBS-TH2 or Inkbird IBS-TH3. Thanks.
Sorry for taking so long to respond but December was a busy month. Yes I did get this resolved. I ended up buying ESP32 and once configured it picked up the Inkbird right away. Battery life on the Inkbird is bit of an issue for me but i am getting the information i need.
How did you get the ESP32 to pick up the inkbird?
After the ESP32 was configured I ran the InkBird integration and it was picked up right away. Make sure to get the ESP32 with BLE Bluetooth and WIFI. This is the ESP32 and Inkbird I bought from Amazon:
Amazon.com: ESP-WROOM-32 ESP32 ESP-32S Development Board 2.4GHz Dual-Mode WiFi + Bluetooth Dual Cores Microcontroller Processor Integrated with Antenna RF AMP Filter AP STA Compatible with Arduino IDE (3PCS) : Electronics
I have an ITC-306A WIFI aquarium heater controller. I added it to the Smart Life App (rather than the Inkbird app which is just a cover of the Tuya App), then it was visible with the Tuya integration. I use LocalTuya to get information off it.
Any Tuya products I add to my Smart Life App, rather than the manufacturers App. Streamlines things.
Are you sure you have a TH3? It is not visible when I add it via the integration. Never has been…
@talormanda. just setup a TH3 unit with Tuya. when pairing, make sure you go to the sensors section and click “sensor (wifi)” - that seemed to work for me.
Can you, please, elaborate more in detail on what you actually did with ESP32 to make the inkbird run?
Okay, you bought an IBS-TH2, which is already supported by the integration…
My post is about the TH3… You didn’t do anything special to make this work because you already have a compatible device.
Why don’t you just add your TH3 to the (Tuya) Smart Life App, then from there it will apear through the Tuya Intergration in home assistant.
because tuya is crap and really shouldnt be used. i try to phase out all of my tuya junk
OK if that is your opinion… I suppose you will continue to have no readings from your temperature and humidity sensor. Unfortunately it is a Tuya device.
A reading no matter how it gets into home assistant is better than none. I have no issues with tuya devices.
