Hi All,
Does anyone here know if you Can run HA on an Old Mac Mini from 2012 with a 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 and 16GB DDR3 Ram?
Of so what is the best option in 2024 for that setup?
I have read some articles from 2021 that Proxmox was an option??? Is it still an option and if so has anyone any good guides?
What about running HA on bear metal?
Or maybe Ubuntu although I have heard that there can be issues with wifi drivers???
Hope someone can help?
Thanks
Should be doable, lots of hits if you Google it. I would not recommend using wifi though.

Yes.
Proxmox would probably be my recommendation, with a VM for HAOS.
Bare metal will work if it supports UEFI.
Ubuntu + Supervised would be a disaster
Debian + Docker (aka Container) would be fine, but no add-ons.

I can confirm Proxmox is the solution, I’ve used it for HA back to a 2009 Mac Mini.

I have HAOS installed on Proxmox on a 2012 Mac Mini Server at the Men’s Shed I go to and it works fine.
