I’m at a loss. I have been banging my head on this thing for an hour. I downloaded the latest image for a Pi3B+ here:

I put it on an SD card using Etcher.

I added a config file on a FAT32 formatted thumbdrive so I could use Wi-Fi using these instructions:

# Network

HassOS uses NetworkManager to control the host network. In future releases, you will be able to set up the configuration using the API/UI. Currently only a manual configuration using NetworkManager connection files is supported. Without a configuration file, the device will use DHCP by default. These network connection files can be placed on a USB drive and imported to the host as described in [Configuration][configuration-usb].

## Configuration Examples

You can read the [Official Manual][keyfile] or find many configuration examples across the internet. The system is read-only, if you don't want the IP address to change on every boot, you should set the UUID property with a generic [UUID4][uuid]. Inside `\CONFIG\network\` on the USB or SD, create a file called `my-network` and add the appropriate contents below:

We have a preinstalled connection profile:

When I boot it I get pages and pages of code flying by. It eventually gets to a point where the last two lines read:

Then it just sits there with a flashing cursor for several minutes then spits out these two lines:

[   353.583087] IPv6: ADDRCONF (NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready
[   353.583087] brcmfmac: power management disabled

Wait several more minutes…

I get the same two lines from above about IPv6 but with different leading numbers at the beginning of each line.

I’m not running IPv6 on my network at all.

So…I re-image the SD card to start from scratch, pull out the thumbdrive and find a long Ethernet cable to just plug it in to a switch since it’s not supposed to need config that way.

It’s sitting there at the same lines with a flashing cursor.

How long is this normally supposed to take? If It has gone 15 minutes and I’m not looking at the Hass.io UI is it safe to say it’s not going to come up at all at this point?

Can take longer than 15 minutes… just wait a while.
Try to access from web browser http://ip-address-of-pi:8123

Wow…once I figured out what the IP was I tried it and it connects…even though those same two lines about IPv6 recycle themselves still about every 5 minutes.

However it’s asking me to sign up again.

I don’t understand… if it’s only just been setup from an image, you need to setup a user and login…

It may be that the hub account is not related to the one I created to join this forum? I know that this is meant to be cloud-free, but I guess I was thrown off by the complete lack of connection.

Thank you for the help! I guess that the connect error I am seeing is just going to be there forever?

What hub account? This forum is not even related to your username in Home Assistant - that is 100% local to your setup.

Not sure about your IPv6 error… I do use IPv6 and I’ve never seen any errors before or after that. Might be related to the Wifi settings file you loaded. I don’t use Wifi either…
