Install Home Assistant on a running Raspberry Pi 3B

Hello
is it possible to install Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi 3B without the image?
I have a running rasp 3B with Pihole on it, and would like to install HA too.
There is no package, I guess?
Thanks. frank

Look up installing core in a VENV? Quick search on this site found multiple guides.

Also, note while technically HA will run on that. (check minimum requirements…) you’re already going to be stressing that pi with just ha. And you already have piHole?

May want to consider performance…

OK then, I wont do it, looks like it is not a good idea
Thanks.

You perhaps could run both using dietpi.

You can no issue
I’ve PiHole, ESPHome, Zigbee2MQTT, HomeAssistant (Core) on a PI3B
No issue at all; not even stressed (CPU)

Even if you’re OK on CPU, how much memory is in your Pi? I noticed a few releases ago, HA’s memory utilization really jumped. It went from 20-30% of my 1G drive to 75-85%. I think there’s a slow memory leak, too. Developers all use much newer machines with a LOT more memory, so they’re not even going to notice there’s a problem.

Pi3B is a 1Gb SOC board

But I believe it is also linked to the number of integrations that are running for memory usage.

I’m fine with this graph honestly, knowing that I’m running 52 integrations.

LTS is not showing that much of a difference, some spikes but nothing that I’m worried about.

Interesting, thanks! This really proves something is wrong on my device.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much memory is your homeassistant container using? That’s the heavy hitter (around 250-275M) when I look at my utilization in Glances. I only have 5 add-ons and they seem pretty well behaved. I’ve been trying to keep my number of integrations to a minimum, too. I suppose I might have to go through them and delete one at a time to see if I can find the culprit.

Around 300-330M
