Install HomeAssistant using iso on intel nuc

Hi again,
I am trying to install image “hassos_intel-nuc-4.16.img” on an intel nuc. I put image on usb stick using balena Etcher and boot nuc from it.
As you can see in video nothing happen after I boot using stick. I also do not see any new IP on the router. Nuc has ethernet cable connected.
What I am doing wrong or miss?

Thank you

You cant boot from USB. The image needs to be bunt to the boot drive.

What do you mean by “bunt” ? I am not sure I understand what you mean…

Burnt.

Hi! I was in some situation couple days ago. I used this method described in this blog;
https://robert.stadsbygd.net/2020/08/02/migrate-home-assistant-to-hass-io-hassos-intel-nuc/
i.e Using ubuntu to put image in NUC’s SSD.

I just put the SSD in an external enclosure burned the image to the drive with etcher then removed the SSD from the external enclosure and installed it.

Literally do exactly what it says on the OS installation page, here, just replace the reference to an SD card with your SSD…

Install Home Assistant OS:

  • For the device images: Flash the downloaded image to an SD card using balenaEtcher.

That’s it. Insert the SSD in the NUC, turn it on.

Finally I managed to make it work. I boot up nuc with hirens, then formated the ssd and used balena to flash image from url…Now I have it installed
Thanks a lot guys

Hi!

Seems that my NUC (old 2gen Intel CPU i5) dont reconise the SSD when flashed with Belana .
Always getting the: “Boot Failure”

But when I install ubuntu 18.x.x it works… Boots straight of…

Any ideas?
