Install on rooted OnHubs. Use built in Zigbee to emulate and obviate other hubs

I’ve been frustrated with Google for not enabling the Zigbee on the OnHub routers, or partnering with device manufacturers to control other devices. A ways back, both the TP-Link and ASUS OnHubs were rooted, and they are basically headless Chromebooks. Could home assistant run on these, and if so, could they use the Zigbee to make it unnecessary to have, say, a Philips Hub to control Hue lights?
