Hi I am Bob and a newby here so please forgive any mistakes.
I am trying to install a fresh copy of Home Assistant OS using VirtualBox on Linux. Every time I do it, I end up with the login page whereas I want the “Welcome Create my Smart Home” page to create my account from scratch. The reason for this is that I am forever having my username and/or password rejected. I know they are correct as I copy and paste my credentials into a password manager. And when I try and reset them in the VirtualBox console, it comes back as successful but still won’t allow me in.
Therefore my question is, can anyone help me create a new Home Assistant OS please?

If you are on Linux anyway why not use docker ?
But if you want help. Unfortunately this is a forum we cant login to your computer and realistically you should not allow strangers onto your network / home anyway 
So. I suggest you use docker compose and docker to spin up home assistant and use it that way. Perhaps a bit more of a learning curve. But in the long run it will make things easier
