I have a rasberry pi 4, i flashed the HAOS from the rasberry pi imager to a 64gb SD, plugged that into the pi
Everything goes quite smooth during installation, i can pull up the observer url all showing good, same for the :8123 url with the installation screen
it shows ‘preparing home assistant’ the logs in the ui don’t show anything new for over 40 minutes.
I’ve tried flashing a differend SD card to see if that would help, i’ve done a usb stick, i’ve even tried to run it in docker and use a different OS but i ran into some other config issues.
I really want to run the HAOS natively on the pi, I’m not sure if i should just wait several hours at this point or do something different.
I thought that if you clicked on the text on that installation screen (via your web browser), you’d see a log. Then you could see what was causing the crash.
I’d guess you are having network configuration issues.
WiFi or Ethernet?
VMs or VLANs?
DNS?
IPv6?
Subnets?
Slow internet?
All possible issues.
List the IP Addresses of your HomeAssistant server, router, web browser device, and if they are static or dynamic in your router configuration.
Have you brought down and restarted t
your server? Twice?
It was solved! Guess how? the storage… I had tried another SD card, a high performance USB and then i was convinced it couldn’t be the storage, then I tried a samsung external SSD and it worked!
Im up and running and automating since Friday, thanks to everyone who responded
