Installed HACS but nothing happens

Installed following this manual https://custom-components.github.io/hacs/installation/manual/ on my Hass.io 0.97.2. Running on a RPi 3B+

When I press the Community Menu I only get a spinning “dougnut” and it won’t stop at all.
What I can see there is no error messages, nothing

Any ideas what could be wrong?

did you restart?

You should restart before entering any config (at least that is what the docs say). So in this order:

  • download/install HACS
  • add hacs to configuration.yaml (no config just hacs)
  • restart HA
  • enter config/api token in configuration.yaml
  • restart again.

It should work now
