Installing a HassOS VM in oVirt

I’ve been running Hass Core in docker for some time now, but seeing the changes in recent years, it looks like it’s a good idea to move to Hass OS. Since I’m running off an old server, I need to set up a VM.

After a bit of research, it looks like oVirt is the way to go for me. However, I can’t seem to get the HassOS VM to run.

I’ve downloaded the qcow2 file, imported it, and created a VM. For now, just testing on an old mini-PC (i3-4350T with 8GB RAM), don’t want to screw up my entire server setup before I know how to make it work. I gave HassOS 2GB of RAM and 2 vCPUs.

But it never shows up on network, and accessing the VM through VNC (browser console), I can see it hanging at:

I’ve waited for 1h, and nothing more happens. Are there any special requirements I’m not aware of? I can see it using 50% CPU and 0% of RAM.

Downloading a centOS cloud qcow2 image and creating a VM from that worked easy as pie, with no issues.

I get a warning in the Admin Portal for the HassOS VM: “The latest guest agent needs to be installed and running on the guest”. I think that’s just to report resource usage. As I understood it, it’s not critical (but I’m only “almost sure”, so just wanted to note it).

EDIT:
Both When trying with both the ova and vdi files, the console shows:

boot failed: not a bootalbe disk

No bootable device

The vhdx and vmdk repeatedly fail to upload (“Finalizing failure”).

I got the answer in the Discord channel, you need to enable UEFI.
