Installing a "user" script on a Raspberry Pi?

I have HA happily running on a Pi 5. I also have a scrip that I hold in /root (as seen from the ssh terminal) that I use daily.
However, after a reboot, the script is lost.

Is there any user available memory that I can use that does not get wiped during a reboot?

Put it in /config in the home assistant container.
