Installing Home Assistant on a raspberry pi 3B

When installing Home Assistant on a raspberry pi 3b it does fine untill get get to downloading Docker and it hangs up for a while the it start sending out error’s here is one of them

22-10-12 01:39:45 ERROR (MainThread) [supervisor.store.git] Can’t clone GitHub - home-assistant/addons: Docker add-ons for Home Assistant repository: Cmd(‘git’) failed due to: exit code(128)

any help in this matter would be great

The install has worked fine for me on many occasions, including to a RPi3b (still in production use now) so there aren’t many parts to check.

If you use a tool like the Raspberry Pi Imager or Balena Etcher, it should also check the written file and by implication, the uSD card.

  • What is the size of the uSD card?
(has the filesystem run out of space?)

  • Is the uSD card already failing with a hardware issue?
(fake copies lie about the actual storage available)

  • Can you browse to GitHub from the same network?
