Installing home assistant to raspberry pi. Where do I go from here?

This is where I currently am in the process, I’ve downloaded the HA operating system onto the Raspberry Pi. The Pi is currently on & connected to the internet by Ethernet. Pic attached of what’s currently on screen.

Ive got a Mac & iPhone (both connected to internet through WiFi) & I’ve used both to try going on:

http:// homeassistant.local:8123

http:// homeassistant:8123

http:// homeassistant.local:4357

Nothing loads & I’m just getting DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

I’ve got no idea where to go from here, apparently I should be able to load these websites? I’m completely lost, I’m afraid! The instructions stop here basically and not sure what to do next.

I’d be very grateful if anyone has any advice on where to go from here!

From that picture, it looks like it’s not getting an IP address. What exactly is it connected to via Ethernet, a router?

Ah, well it seems I’m an idiot who plugged the ethernet cable into the WAN port & then didn’t bother to check.

Now I’ve plugged the ethernet cable in correctly and restarted the Pi, it all seems to be working fine at the moment (fingers crossed).

Thanks for your help!

Don’t forget to mark the solution so others that accidentally plug into the Wan port can figure it out

Glad you’re working
