Installing OS on beebox n3000

Hi,

Im trying to install Home Assistant OS an an ASRock Beebox N3000.

This Box was running hass supervised for quite some time. I want to switch to hass OS because this box will be dedicated to hass after moving other services to another machine.

I downladed the NUC image and flashed to USB drive using Rufus (also tried with etcher).

When trying to boot to USB I get a black screen with a non-blinking cursor in the top left corner.

The N3000 is x64, so I guess the NUC image is the correct one?

Flash directly to the drive that the OS will run off of.

You do not flash to a USB drive an install to the drive like you do with ubuntu or some other OSs.

Ah okay. Is guess that could work from a live distro using dd or similar?

And the NUC image should work then right?

Download the image. Download Balena etcher.

Flash the image to your drive using Blaena Etcher.

Boot from that drive and everything should start up.

The NUC image should work. Compatibility largely depends on your hardware working with the drivers included in the image.

Okay, thanks for the help.

I didn’t mention earlier that i can’t flash the disk that easily, since it’s an m.2 drive and this is the only machine i have with m.2 slot.

So what i did was basically like you said, but from a live system.
Starting a KDE live USB, install etcher, download image and flash system disk from live system.

I got kinda confused when reading the instrcutions on the website, wondering why installing the OS is kinda skipped, but that makes sense now

Thanks
