I recently migrated from Insteon-to-MQTT to the native integration. I have a 2413U PLM that is directly attached to my HA Yellow. All 74 of my existing Insteon devices were migrated.
There are 2 anomalies that I am struggling with. Of my 4x fanlincs, 2 of them do not allow me to control their light; the fan control works. These 2 fanlincs were “decoupled” from a keypadlinc for their light, i.e. the 4 buttons on a 6 keypadlinc do control the fan, but the one button controls other entities.
Everything was working properly under Insteon-to-MQTT. Looking at the ALDB, I do not see anything that appears incorrect. Would appreciate any thoughts/guidance on how to get the lights on these 2x fanlincs to work.
maybe dumb/obvious question but did you go to the device page for the device in question, then hit the gear icon “visit” button to go to the insteon settings and then switch to the “all-link database” tab, then try selecting “add default links” from the three-dots menu? i found this fixed some problems with home-assistant not being able to monitor/control insteon devices.
in the few cases where this did not work, i did a hardware-reset of the device, followed by a repeat of the same “add default links” operation and that generally took care of things. caveat: none of my >200 insteon devices are fanlincs.
I did try running the “add default links”, but this did not fix the problem. I’m really hoping not to have to reset the fanlincs as they are very difficult to get to.
