Hello Folks. New to HA but have the portable version of HA working fine. With this running I can see many smart devices on my network but not Insteon given HA is not connected yet to my Insteon HUB2 2245-222 and this is where I am stuck…
Adding the Insteon HUB appears simple and I can get as far as the setting page where you enter the IP and login credentials for the HUB. Using both the credentials on the back of the HUB2 or the credentials I had used with the Insteon app does not work. I always get a Failed Connection.
I have tried in a browser to access the HUB by using: http://myhubsip:25105 and I can get the login page but again none of the credentials work to allow me to login. I believe this should mean the HUB2 web server is working and live on the local network
I have not tired resetting the HUB yet as I have read this is not a good idea…
If anyone has any idea of what I should try next I would greatly appreciate the help!
I just find it weird that the credentials working just days ago no longer allow access or those on the bottom of the HUB. Seems to suggest something may have been corrupted on the HUB…
Are you saying then given neither the credentials on the HUB or those previously set do not seem to work the best course of action would be to reset the HUB then?
Unfortunately, no I have not managed to get things working yet. I have not tried resetting the HUB as I really hope to keep settings if at all possible. Why the pwd I setup or the one from the back of the HUB is not being accepted is still a mystery.
I am having the same issue. I tried two different v2 Insteon hubs. Even tried resetting them both. They seemed to reset successfully. HA can find the Hub automatically with the latest update, but when using the credentials in the bottom of the hub, HA says “Failed to connect”. It does this for both units when I try them. Has anyone had any luck. I am new to HA. Thank you.
I am still stuck with this myself and now learning the issue was not fixed for you after resetting the HUB I’m leery trying the same as all my settings would be lost. Starting to feel perhaps the HUB was corrupted somehow…
I have had this happen twice. I had to delete the Insteon Integration with all of my settings and device names lost. One of the times I couldn’t connect at all and had to do a rebuild of HA, but I think that is because of a power outage that zapped the data. I have been making backups now and using Macrimum Reflect cloning to clone the SD card in the Raspberry Pi. It is frustrating because I really love HA and the fact that I didn’t have to scrap my Insteon implementation so it saved the day, but I don’t like having to rebuild or losing my Insteon integration settings.
