Insteon integration - change PLM device

I’m wondering how I can change the device reference for a PLM. I’m looking at removing a USB->DB9 adapter from my system. The only way I can see to change the PLM device address is to remove the integration and re-add it.
My attempt to prove a way I could do this failed. I tried to add a section in configuration.yaml like this
insteon:
port: /dev2/serial/by-id/usb-Prolific_Technology_Inc._USB-Serial_Controller_D-if00-port0
that pointed to a bad device (thinking it would break the integration)…but it doesn’t.

The reason I don’t want to delete the integration is it forces me to rename all the devices from their XX.YY.ZZ names to something that is human interesting.

Ideas?

Any update? I have a failed USB PLM and need to re-sync all of my devices.

My PLM died and got a replacement. Anyone knows how to replace it in HA?
