Insteon Linking with Device Address with HA and a PLM

Anyone know if the Insteon Integration will get Linking via a manually entered Insteon Device Address? One thing I do like about my Universal Devices ISY994i is that I can place the PLM into linking mode via software. Via the software, I can also link a device via the device ID (xx.xx.xx).

I want to simplify my Home Assistant setup and not have to rely on the ISY994i or the new UD eisy ($$$).

Yes, there are 3 ways to add a device to the Insteon integration in Home Assistant.

  1. Use the “Insteon” panel link on the side bar and press the (+) Add Device button. This will walk you through the process.
  2. Press the “Set” button on the modem (PLM or Hub) then press the “Set” button on the device.
  3. Use the insteon.add_all_link service. Not really a recommended option but it is there.
