Hi,
I try to connect my first device to home assistant. It’s my television. We have a Panasonic Viera TX-40CS630E. It is connected thrue wifi with my network. When I try to integrate a new device ‘Panasonic Viera’ and enter the IP-address, he says ‘failed to connect’. Is my TV not supported or do I something wrong?
Thx
Philippe
Was the TV on when you tried to set up the integration?
I’m having a very similar issue with my TX-P42ST50B TV
Main difference is mine is LAN connected.
This integration has worked fine for me at some time in the past but I removed it a while back as I wasn’t using it much.
Due to getting more involved with automations recently, I tried to get the Viera TV back in HA for some lighting triggers, but keep getting the above error message.
Network seems fine, I can ping it etc.
Tried using YAML config, but still get effectively the same result
Checked the logs and keep seeing the sort of thing below.
Logger: homeassistant.components.panasonic_viera.config_flow
Source: components/panasonic_viera/config_flow.py:61
Integration: Panasonic Viera (documentation, issues)
First occurred: 17:28:55 (9 occurrences)
Last logged: 17:37:53

** Could not establish remote connection: <urlopen error [Errno 111] Connection refused>*
Don’t know what’s changed, but after several attempts at changing network settings on the TV (first to Wi-Fi, then fixed IP, then back again) plus several restarts of HA it’s now working again for me.
Can’t honestly say what fixed it, as all settings are now exactly the same as I started with. But at least it’s working for me.
Yes, it was on
Good afternoon,
I have the same problem… Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
Thanks in advance
Laurent
Hi boys and girls!
I have the same problem with my Panasonic 65GZ950 TV.
It used to work flawlessly, then suddenly it became unavailable, so I deleted the integration, tried to add it again, but to no avail.
I’ve done what you did many times, but it won’t connect.
I reconnected to wifi, gave a fixed IP address, but when I tried to add it to the integrations, it says “Connection failed” every time. Is there anything else that should be deleted from HomeAssistant so that the TV can connect?
I see that others have had this error as well. Has anyone managed to solve the problem “not by accident”? And can you make the solution public domain? Thank you in advance and great respect for the solution.
Hi everyone,
I am in the situation as well using this model: tx-55mx600e.
Any advice on how to solve this issue? Could it be that not all models are compatible? To be honnest, the menu of the device is not that intuitive either…
Thanks to everyone who could help us on finding a solution.
I thought that activating control via Google Home would help and maybe lead to the activation of some settings on the TV which would enable the use of Viera in HA. But it is not the case. I see that Google Home is using VSmart TV to control the TV. Apparently, there is no VSmart TV integration for HA…
I know that it is no solution but maybe this contribution might help finding a solution.
