I’ve been looking for a solution to control my vertical blinds via Home Assistant.
I’ve come across this product: https://www.helloaxis.com which I personally find pleasing to look at and have a great WAF.
However I cannot find the product on the components page, so my question is how much work would it be to these babies up-and-running in HA?
I’m a total newbie to HA, but I’ve been lurking for some time and now that I have finally bought my first home, I’ve decided that automation should be the heart of my home.
Any feedback on the above would be awesome! Thanks!
I haven’t made decision yet, I was considering getting a Zigbee USB stick for my RPi. Would rather stay away from ST, since it is dependent on a internet connection and Samsungs cloud running.
Got any recommendations for getting Zigbee running well?
Currently my home is made up of a selection of Philips Hue light bulbs + hub, IKEA Trådfri Bulbs + Hub and a Verisure Alarm system.
My hope is to make all elements play nicely together.
Read some reviews that the Brunt Blind Engine have some trouble pulling larger curtains, but haven’t looked that much into it. Might consider getting that instead.
I use the conbee zigbee stick with deconz, but the AXIS isn’t supported yet. That way you don’t need the hue hub or the ikea hub. But zigbee2mqtt does the same and does support the axis. I haven’t tried zigbee2mqtt though.
I also use the Brunt blind engine and have no problems with my 3m wide blinds.
Works well for me. Just need to flash the USB stick yourself. The rest are quite straightforward with the Hassio add-on
I got 6 Ikea bulbs, 1 Hue bulb, 12 various Xiaomi/Aqara sensor
