I would like to get a feedback before starting my IoT integration with HASS
My RB3 B+ is out , and i was checking to go with a RBP 4.
But with the lack of components, the price of the 4 is quite high (when we can get one).
For example, i can have the RB4 with charger , 4Go for 100$
After reading lot of topics here, some people are recommending to go with an Intel Nuc.
So here is my question, what do you think is better for stability (and the price) : Intel NUC i5-4250U with 4GB , SSD 480GO for 100 $ or Raspberry pi 4 with charger for 100$ ? (That we have to add a SSD, because i read here people have troubles with SD card after a while)
Is the CPU of the nuc less powerful because of number of core? (2 vs 4)
Is really much higher the consumption for one year?
Thank you for the reply!
Yes this what i was not completly sure, is it much powerful than the pi as it is only dual core compare the quadcore of the pi.
For energy consumption, I think itβs about the same
Yep, go NUC if you can. Way more flexibility overall in terms of upgradability, available binaries, etc. You lose some GPIOs and things like that, but if you dont need that to start with, it doesnt matter.
Iβm running a NUC with a Celeron that I bought ~4 years ago. Running Proxmox on it with a Debian/Docker VM that runs all my HA stuff. Other containers for AdGuard, Unifi, etc. No issues to date.
