Interactive Custom UI: Tiles YAML Generator Site

Custom UI Tiles Generator Site

Over the last couple of days I’ve been playing around with Custom UI: Tiles by user @eddi89.

I found it tedious to think about what buttons I needed, where, and the conversion to rows/columns, so I made an interactive website over a Sunday evening to render the YAML with a simple click, drag, and press site!

Thought I would share it with the community.

The usage is straight forward.

  1. Click New Tile
  2. Drag new red tile to position
  3. Click corners to resize
  4. double click to change the name of the entity
  5. Click Render YAML for it to create the YAML immediately for you!
  6. Make any changes as needed
  7. Repeat

Hopefully this will encourage people to make many functional remotes for their own HA!

(User @zombu2 on Discord pointed out that this could be used to render hadashboard templates. I will work on getting a version to do that too!)

Comments welcome. Though this was meant to be a quickly thrown together site with function over fashion!

Thank you so much. I will try to learn. Never have try this before.

Thanks for the kind sentiment. That was my exact purpose, and I’m glad it to hear it!

Thanks you so much. I wanted to set up Custom UI but I didn’t have the time to create the yaml and try to get the correct dimensions.
This is saving me so much time!

Is the link for this tool broken for anyone else?

Sorry about that guys, I’ve given her the ol’ restart.
Back up and running.

Thanks for pointing that out @joshluster and @oakbrad

Can this be used for HADashboard?

Not at the moment. The requirements for the output is different, but when I have a moment I will see if I can make a version for HADashboard

When I visit the link I get:

{“Message”:“User: anonymous is not authorized to perform: es:ESHttpGet”}

Tried in Firefox and Edge.

Is it working for anyone?

hopefully fixed soon as this looks awesome but I’m yet to try it out

Broken link

This is exactly what I am looking for. Too bad the link is down…

is the generator page dead?

Probably. The tiles card has been abandoned.
