Interesting thoughts and realizations about your Home Assistant

I realized why I love working on my HA today. Nearly every single problem I encounter can be solved by adding good code, integrations, add-ons or blueprints. It is easy enough to pick up and very rewarding to master.

Most times, I get to learn or practice a valuable skill related to networking, opsec, etc.

It hits on an intuitive level and a logical level, which is to say that it is an extremely rare piece of software kit.

It’s also arguably a community-wide cooperative effort to make people’s homes better, which (right or wrong) feels like I’m making a difference.

What have you realized while working on Home Assistant?

It’s often surprisingly difficult to get simple behaviors going. Not because the platform is bad or deficient, but because there are corner cases that I simply did not account for.
