hi All,
Is anyone able to use the Intermatic CA3750 with HA? Amazon link
I was able to add it to the network, got a device and two switch entities created, but I was not able to control it with HA.
However, the same switch works fine when paired with Smartthings controller.
Sorry this is just a “me too” reply. But everything you mentioned above, is exactly what I am going thru. I am now stuck with 2 Contactor/Switch entries in Lovelace that do nothing to change the state of the CA3750.
Not really. For this single reason I am forced to keep a Smarthings hub pluged in. It is cheaper than to replace the switch.
What version of the ZWAVE JS are you using? I may try with one of the latest versions - maybe they fixed the protocol.
It’s controlling a 240V water heater (drawing ~4700W). The switch is rated for 9600W, so I am good using this. It’s working perfectly. I also created a simple cover on my 3d printer so I could use the switch without the rounded cover from the manufacturer.
I am curious what are the expected savings with such timer for a water heater?
I think I read you can save max 10% of the yearly costs for water heating.
I’d like to learn more about this. I may have an issue putting one in my attic as temps in TX attics can get to 130F +
We have a vacation home that is unoccupied more than 75% of the time (over a year), so turning the hotwater heater off is certainly a significant cost savings.
Is that round thing on the front a manual control for the switch? I guess the cover needs to be removed in order to manually switch it?
I am assuming you mean the round button below the light; Yes, that button toggles the relay to turn the appliance on/off. Also, you use it to include/exclude in the zwave network. This is why I removed the stock cover and made one that exposes that button. The original cover made it very difficlut to turn on the appliance in the event HA did not see someone arrive. We share our vacation home with non-technical people and didn’t want to try to explain the process to operate the switch thru the original cover.
