Maybe it would be a nice feature to this community to have some kind of personal introduction? Like country you are from, on what platform you are running HASS, what devices are connected to HASS etc.
I am not sure how likely I would be to read through length personal intros but I would be interested on dedicated Categories for specific countries - would be useful for group discussions about local issues that wouldn’t interest people outside of that country e.g. country specific components. Could also be achieved with Tags
Actually, this could be accomplished by adding a simple text field to the profile. Then you could put in a little about yourself and your interests. Then you could find out more about people you are interested in rather than having to wade through a list of posts.

Country specific forums would be nice, as I’m building a house and want to get it automated, I need to know what’s available in my country. Having a country forum would greatly increase the chances of finding something working/good

thats exactly how i would use it, so a part of the profile where people could make an personal introduction would be highly appreciated.
i dont know if it would be possible, but a part where people could react to that introduction would also be nice.
so maybe a forum part for introduction and a link to a that topic in the profile?
I have thought about a signature option on the forum. Specific info is country and the platform and install method used. Seems that so many times you have to ask what platform and install method was used before providing troubleshooting steps.
i looked at the settings again, and that text field already exists 
guess i didnt fill it in the first time and afterwards i never checked the settings
and i think i am not the only one
So back to the drawing board, i hope i used that phrase correctly. :)

I updated my account with location and basic info, but without search option it’s pointless.

Yeah, I kind of wrote that incorrectly. What I meant to say was to USE the text field in the profile.

the problem is that only a few do use it and you dont have the option to search or comment.
and if people are anything like me they dont even know that option is there
If it’s something that would show at the bottom of each post as a footer, I am not sure that I like the idea. There is another home automation board that does this, and if you perform a search for a specific device, it returns all the posts that users have that device even if the topic is way off base. This makes searching for a solution really troublesome.
i am no fan of footnotes, they make reading difficult. but a sidenote or a small description below the profile picture could make a big difference.
