Hi
Just installed HASS on a Pi last night and I’m absolutely gobsmacked. I’m a bit sad as I’ve spent the last 6 months learning Flask/Python from nothing to do what HASS could have done in about 10 minutes! Still, the learning has been fun.
I’ve got quite a bit of stuff at home now and really looking forward to learning how to get the most out of this.

I discovered HA while researching how to get notifications from my doorbell and mailbox using python on a Pi. I was all set to modify a few snippets of code to do this when HA popped up in a search. A few months later and the initial doorbell and mailbox notification idea had expanded to cover control and automation of a vast array of devices in my home.
