I know that a lot of people have posted about this, but the usual solutions don’t work for me. I had a password that was working fine, and now its not. Fortunately, my desktop app remains logged in, so I created a new admin user with a very simple name and password: all lowercase letters, no spaces or anything. I tried to log in with this new user, and never even worked once:
“Logging in to Home with Home Assistant Local. Invalid username or password”
Then, I go back into HA in the desktop app, and double click on the new user in the Users pane. It comes up fine, but when I click “Change Password” is pops up an error: “No Home Assistant credentials found.” This happens every time I try to create a new user.
I’m probably missing something basic. Any help appreciated.
Yes, I’ve been saving regular backups with the google cloud backup thing. But now we’re getting a bit out of my knowledge. Would the backups be corrupted as well? I’m not sure exactly when the problem started. And I’m hoping not to lose a ton of work if I have to go back too far in the archive?
Or are you saying re-install the system from scratch, then restore only certain things from the backup? I’ve never used the HA backup system before, so I’m kinda stupid around it…
•I’ve discovered that I AM able to log in with these accounts using Firefox.
•The problem still exists in Safari.
•The username and password that work on Firefox do NOT work on the Android app running on a Fire HD 10 tablet.
•The error I got when trying to change the password in HA has stopped happening, and it’s allowing me to change the password now.
