IOS and Cloud

Hi,

I’m confused on the capabilities of the Home Assistant Cloud. I understand it acts as a proxy and provides encrypted access via the web to my hass server. Does it integrate with the IOS app so that it is encrypted, or do I need to expose my server to the interent for IOS access?

Yes.

No.

The correct URL for cloud access will be detected by the app and it will be end to end encrypted.

Using v2.0b iOS app is highly recommended. Home Assistant for iOS 2.0 Beta Testing It’s very stable and probably just about ready for release.
