I was able to connect to the IOS app a day ago but now am unable to connect back and dont know what is wrong. I have not changed the login credentials. URL(http://hassio.local:8123) PASSWORD(**********). Anyone have ideas what could be the issue?
Thanks for future replys
Are you connected to your wifi?
I would suggest using the actual IP your home assistant instance, I have seen a number of issues with using the hassio.local method.
That is your external IP the one you would use to connect from outside your network. You may want to edit your post. Its a bit like posting your house address.
If you only want to access your HA instance when on your home network you would need the IP address of your Pi followed by :8123 which is the port.
It should be something like 10.0.0.0, 192.168.1.0 or 172.16.0.0
If you are unsure if you have the right IP for a local connection, enter it at the link below. It should return with a page about private IPs. If not it will return with location information based on your public IP.
If you want to set up remote access, see below, but ensure you have a strong password setup on the front end and understand the security implications.
So the IP i posted was fake. Now i added the 8123 to the address and then am taken to a pi-hole page saying that this website is blocked
Are you using an private or public IP?
The private IP should be effected by Pi-hole although I don’t use it so I don’t know how it works.
If you are using a public IP you may need to white list the IP, not sure why pi-hole would block it.
