iOS - Home Assistant Companion won't connect

Hi,

I installed Home Assistant Companion from apple store. And I can not get it to work.

I fill in connection settings:

URL: http://hassio.local:8123 (this url is working on my browser with api password)
Password: my api password

and when I press save button I get error:

There was an error connecting to Home Assistant. Please confirm the settings are correct and save to attempt to reconnect. The error was: Response status code was unacceptable: 403

I figured out. I deleted file ip_bans.yaml. and now is working.

I’ve noticed that when moving from wifi to cellular network that i get ip banned. Something to do with the new authorisation system and the iOS app.

I have exactly the same issue. I can connect to my homeassistant from any wifi points (local and outside), but it does not work with the cellular network connection. Did you manage to solve the issue?

@uwut just delete ip_bans.yaml under config folder restart hass and try again.

Thank you for your answer. It seems like I do not have any ip_bans.yam under config folder.

Share error message.

I do not know what happened but it started working again, thanks

Old discussion, but I had the same problem! Able to connect from the app on the iphone, but not from the ipad.
At the end of the story, in the ipad app settings was not enable the internet connection!
