Hi,
My HomeAssistant instance grew and grew, so I and my friend decided to separate the HomeAssistant (IoT) network from my "daily usage network.
It worked quite well, escept some few “devices”.
a.) I have Adguard Home installoed on ym opensence, but do like the HA addon, where I can switch off the AD
AGH temporarely. The AGH got a new IP 1-2 weeks ago, today we installed the firewall and had some minutes, where ADH was not able to be “seen” by HA. As we where mistracked I think I tried to “install” the AGH addon new. Now I have two AGH, one that works with _2 added at the very end, and one that does not work, without the _2. I am 90% the working one is the one without the “Hauswirtschaftsraum” set.
Any idea how to remove the other one?
I the adguard home integration, I only could delete both devices, or none. Do I really have to delete both and than enable the new one again?
b.) I have an Aquare FP2, which had a network addres from the old LAN, and today it got an new IP. I can see the FP2 in the Aquare App, and it seems to work. I googled and found, that I could chance the IP of the Aquare from old to new in the file:
/homeassistant/.storage/core.config_entries
I did so, but the device cannot be found be HA. I gives this error:
In both cases you should have deleted the old integration and added new.
In the case of ad guard you should be able to delete the non working one from settings > devices and services > pick your integration three dots menu > delete, disable or ignore try disable then restart first to make sure you hVe the right one.
As to the Aquara.
Stay out of storage unless you explicitly know what you’re doing. You can very much break the *** our of your install with one wrong keystroke.
Hi,
so basically network re-configuration (renumbering) is “where you are on your own” :-), and if bad luck, you redo everything in HA from scratch new?
(Sorr not to be meat harsh) or so, I just wonder. Everthing is smooth most of the time, and here I see “no problem” exchanging an IP with another.
Each integration handles it differently there is Jo single way and it’s up to the integration. Had these been esp32 devices you’d do it inside esphome. If they were Tuya, etc etc.
Its different for each one. And in these cases you’re also dealing with not changed correctly.
Honestly I don’t have any idea what will happen to the Aquara once it was edited i storage that one…??? Good luck. But deleting it should pull it out of the dB properly so it can be re added properly.
The other integration you already did the damage. It’s damage control now.
Id which copy is old by disabling and once you do kill it. Then you can go into the working one and rename the entities to match your old ones so any old automations continue to work (as long as you’re using entity id’s to address things)
Hi,
I deleted the two adguard devices, and now it cannot connect any more I get the username/PW out of keepass, and in the browser it works. Before one of those instances worked.
did reboot.
Do you know where I could delete cashes in HA (if there is something)?
I am stuck. Anyway: I get a coffee, and maybe it heals itself (sometime happened) and I donno what exactly happened.
thanks anyway, I thought it might be the better way, but somehow relucted (as I do have to do some automasations new)
Hi,
we changed the network and separated it into an IOT network and a “regular to use” network. The idea from @NathanCu is correct. And as I only hat to switch two out of 165, I changed the two, and it works.
